We know that India is a country of festivals
and their are many types of festival like Diwali,
Dusshera, Rasksha Bandhan and Holi . We celebrate all this festival in a joyfull manner. But their is a most excited festival is holi. Holi is the festival of color. We celebrate this festival by throwing color to each other. On these day all the people of India is fall in color.
We are the people of India who celebrate holi a great full manner. But you know that why we celebrate holi? Once upon a time their was a king Hirrankaishap who was like a demon. He takes revenge from Lord Vishnu for his brother death. After a long year of preyed he finally get a boon from Lord Brahma. After, to get a boon he considering himself a lord and saying his people that he is the lord of him. The cruel king has a young son Prahalad. He never obeyed his father order and kept him for the worshiping of lord Vishnu. The cruel king was hard hearted he mind his plan for burnt his child into ashes. So he called his sister holika who will have a boon that he never burnt into fire. Holika sit on a pyre of fire with Prahalad in her lap. Their plan was to burn Prahalad. But their plan did not go through as Prahalad who was reciting the name of Lord Vishnu throughout was safe, but Holika got burnt to ashes. This signifies that bad is always losses by good. After that Lord Vishnu was killed Hirrankaishap. But it was actually the defeat of holika as we celebrated as holi.
But how did colors become part of Holi? This dates back to the period of Lord Krishna (reincarnation of Lord Vishnu . It is believed that Lord Krishna used to celebrate holi with colors and hence popularized the same. He used to play holi with his friends at Vrindavan and Gokul. They used to play pranks all across the village and thus made this a community event. That is why till date Holi celebrations at Vrindavan are unmatched.
